We just put together a little product video on our made to order wood signs. These are very high quality wood pieces with full color re-printed original drawings and artwork to be displayed in your home. We have lots of different colors, and themes that are suited to fit with almost any decor or design theme you may have in your surf shack.

New Beach Signs

We added some great new surf signs to our Hawaiian bedding store today. These new signs are hand drawn and feature Southern California local artist, Wade Koniakowsky. Wade Koniakowsky is known for translating the power and magic of the ocean to canvas, and capturing that surfer feel He has been deeply involved in art and surfing his entire adult life. A Hawaiian sign drawn by Wade is featured above.

Wade has served on the board of The American Institute of Graphic Arts, San Diego chapter. His work has been featured in Graphis, Art Direction, Communication Arts, Print and Novum magazines. His work has been recognized by the New York Art Director’s Club, The Houston Art Director’s Club, The Los Angeles Advertising Club and The Clios. He has been a guest lecturer at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and the Artists & Art Directors Club of Sacramento.

Wade resides in San Diego, California with his wife and two daughters. Dean Miller is proud to be carrying his hand drawn surfer signs at our shop.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

We just wanted to say Happy Cinco de Mayo to everyone out there. As you know Cinco de Mayo means the Fifth of May in Spanish, and this day is used to celebrate the Mexicans defeat of French troops in the 1862 Battle of Puebla. It's kinda like America's Fourth of July celebration.

But since we are surfers here at Dean Miller, we decided to celebrate Cinco de Mayo the only way we know how, to add a great new cowboy surf sign riding waves, or "las olas", down in Mexico. We love packing up the truck and crossing the border in search of adventure and empty waves. Baja California might be a little sketchy these days, but once you punch through TJ and get a little bit further down it becomes old Mexico again. Nothing but beers and waves greet you in the Mexican desert.

Of course we have a full selection of signs to choose from, including a wide selection of Hawaiian signs, but today we featured this cowboy in an epic barrel south of the border. Mahalo!
